Humanity in the Arts
Peace Award
ICAP seeks to find individuals who have made outstanding
contributions to the world through the arts while dedicating themselves
to linking human hearts in solidarity and honor them with the Humanity
in the Arts Peace Award. This annual award was first presented to
Mr. Carlos Santana on April 28, 2002.
The Humanity in the Arts Peace Award commends artists
for nobly inspiring others to celebrate humanity's myriad cultures
and traditions, and to cherish their fellow citizens.
The recipient is honored for his or her outstanding
contributions to the development of a culture of art, humanism and
respect for the inherent dignity of human life while inspiring humankind
to shun the road of hatred and hostility and direct it to the path
of non-violence and friendship.
